Welcome to my blog! My hope is that my random thoughts and ramblings may encourage you and prompt some reflections in your own life. At the root of every post is a nudging from the Lord as I ask Him to show me something new. He never fails to do so. Sometimes it’s reflective. Sometimes it smacks me right in the face. And sometimes it’s just humorous. Let’s enjoy this together as we grow deeper in understanding how we can thrive in this world because we are protected by the Lord in the cleft of the rock!

If you are new to my blog, it may be helpful to go back and read my first three posts to get to know me a little better.

  • The Lost is Found!
Some of you may recall that back in January I wrote an entry entitled “The Missing Piece.” It was inspired by the fact that my husband and I had worked very diligently to complete a 2000-piece puzzle, only to discover that there were only 1,999 pieces.
  • Peek-a-Boo!
With my grandson, the traditional game of peek-a-boo became exciting fun when he realized my face would reappear, along with an enthusiastic “boo”. He began realizing I hadn’t actually ceased to exist because I hid my face. And when a toy is hidden or he drops something, he knows to look for it. These stages of development are a joy to watch. I believe this concept of permanence plays a role in our spiritual and emotional lives, too, because sometimes we fool ourselves into thinking that things we hide about ourselves don’t exist.
  • Comfy?
My husband laughs at me and shakes his head because, even though we’ve had our current mattress for many years, I still snuggle in at night, pull the big fluffy down comforter up to my chin, sigh and say in a dreamy voice, “I love my bed.” It’s just that it’s so cozy and comfortable and I don’t take it for granted. I enjoy comfort like this.
